Missions at SKCBC

God has called each and every one of us to be witnesses. Whether our witness be here at home, in our community, or even in a different country we are all called to share the Word of God with others. We are to be the light in the darkness of a sinful world. Even though we are not perfect, and we still make mistakes we have a God who loves us in spite of that. We should feel privileged to share this love with others.

Some of the ways that SKCBC impacts our world internationally is through mission trips. In the year 2010 we are sending three of our members to Mali with the International Mission Board. The reason we feel called here is because the highest proportion of child laborers in the world are in Sub-Saharan Africa, where 26% of children (49 million) are involved in work (www.crin.org). There are also physical needs for proper medication and sanitation that cannot be solved by one person. This country is crying out for hope and for help. We can show them God's love and His faithfulness. We are also supporters of the FUSION program through Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Some of the ways that SKCBC impacts our community is by providing a yearly Vacation Bible School. This past year we partnered with The Child Evangelism Fellowship. We were able to host 3 Bible Clubs in area parks close to the church. We were able to reach out to children of the community just by offering a safe place for them to be for a couple hours of the day. We also hold food drives for Community Assistance Council and other non-profit groups in the area.

Some of the ways that SKCBC impacts our country is through a yearly mission trip by the SKCBC Students Section. Each year our Students go on a week mission trip to help churches in different states minister to their city. Generally, the Students help the church do construction work, host a Vacation Bible School, prayer walk, and witness door-to-door through the community.

How can you help impact our world?
